Why was Astro Boy named Atom? Osamu Tezuka chose to give the small robot a powerful name to reflect the duality of the nuclear age. Humanity learned to harness immense energy and enjoy technological abundance, but also experienced fear and wounds that cannot be healed. Through the character of Astro Boy, a clear message was conveyed: violence is not a solution, and dialogue and understanding should be chosen instead of force and subjugation.
Blitzway analyzed Astro Boy's character and the message Tezuka embedded in the animation and comics, and from this, designed an impressive deluxe statue that combines a smooth and naive appearance with hidden power. A light press on the heart-shaped mechanism activates a lighting effect that simulates red pulsations, and in the leg area, lighting is activated that simulates pulsating nuclear fusion. Astro Boy's eyes gaze with a blue, sharp look, combining innocence with determination. This is a statue that manages to convey the warm heart beating within a cold metallic body, and turn a deep philosophical idea into an impressive display piece. We grew up with Astro Boy, with Japanese heroes with big hearts and a strong human message, and now we are bringing one of the most influential icons of the manga and anime world back to the center of our collection.
